Apple is fighting with entrepreneur over the use of "Pod" TrademarkApple which is a big company popular for its products decided to file legal action against many other individuals and companies who are using the term "Pod". Daniel Kokin, an entrepreneur, decided to fight back. He mentioned that since last 9 years Kokin has been developing a video projector, called "Video Pod", which will display video. Daniel further stated that company has been using term "Video Pod" not "iPod". He said that he knows the term iPod before naming his product. He further added that term "i" is the dominant portion of Apple's trademark not "Pod". In 2007, Daniel filled an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the registration of the Video Pod trademark but Apple filed an opposition. United States Patent and Trademark office denied and ask them to battle in the court. He mentioned in his telephonic interview that "I'm a little guy, and for Apple to be kind of shut down at this stage, I feel vindicated. You start to question your own sanity after a while. Am I doing something wrong? Or am I at a disadvantage because I have no money and therefore I'm supposed to be wrong?" Supporting Kokin, Kokin's attorney said "It's a great win because so often the appeals board grants the summary judgment. There's no question that this is a good ruling and is certainly making Apple nervous for sure."
